As Build UK’s Technology Partner, we were delighted to be asked to showcase our new Virtual Smartcard technology at their 2017 Summer Party held at the Natural History Museum.

Using clever new technology, we have extended our existing platform, developed for the CSCS Smartcard and Go Smart card reader apps, to be able to offer Virtual Smartcards – a digital card that is stored in an app called Vircarda on mobile devices such as a smartphone, removing the need to carry physical cards.

Vircarda is a creative and innovative solution that provides a faster, more flexible skill card solution ensuring that we continue to deliver high quality, robust solutions that our clients want and need.

Attendees of Build UK’s Summer Party, were the first to experience this new technology, receiving an email with instructions on how to download the Vircarda app and access their Virtual Smartcards, which we termed e-tickets for the event. On the night, over 73% of attendees had their e-ticket on their Smartphone and were able to fast track their entrance into the venue. The resounding feedback received from the attendees on the night was delight in how quickly and easily their virtual e-tickets were read, the information checked and entrance gained.

We are really excited as the new Virtual Smartcard solution can be used across many sectors and has many uses. We are currently working with a number of our construction industry partners and look forward to sharing further news soon.
